THE STUDY OF THE CAUSE OF THE SUCCESSIVE ACTIVITY OF STRONG EARTHQUAKES IN TANGSHAN

  • 摘要: 唐山地震以其连续发生7.8、7.1、6.9级强震而称为连发式地震。本文对其连发的特殊地震构造原因和力学机制进行了探讨。认为:唐山震区特殊的构造条件和蕴震条件是唐山连发式强震活动的基础,包括大华北地震活动区特别是东北分区的应力场明显增强,是唐山连发式强震活动的根本原因。此外,其轭断面倾角和唐山断裂带均具有重要作用。

     

    Abstract: The Tangshan earthquake is called the successive earthquake because the strong earth-quakes accurrcd continuously.The paper studies the cause of the successive earthquake from tbe three aspects as follows: tectonics, earthquake preparation and mechanics.It is suggested that successive strong earthquake activity in Tangshan seismic region is on the base of its particular concditions of structure and earthquake preparation;and of that stress field in North China seismic region,specially in its Northeastern subarea,is obviously increassed.In addition, both dip angle of conjugate faults and Tangshan fault zone played an important role.
