Abstract:
In recent years, with the progress of earthquake science, numerical simulation of strong ground motion has been well developed and has become an important approach to estimate strong ground motion. In this research, considering the impact of
V30 (the average shear-velocity down to 30 m), we calculate the Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) and Peak Ground Velocity (PGV) for seismic hazard assessment of Hengshui area. Taking Hengshui city as an example, we calculate the PGA and time travel curve with the impact of six scenario earthquakes. Xinhe fault and Hujiachi fault have minimal impact in the main city of Hengshui with PGA about 50~90 cm/s
2 and PGV below 10cm/s, but if the instability fault is Hengshui fault, the PGA and PGV could be 200~360 cm/s
2 and 30~45cm/s respectively in Hengshui city.
