NEW CLASSIFICATION FOR ACTIVE FAULTS BY SATELLITE PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIES

  • 摘要: 应用卫星图象可以分析新构造运动上升、下降与平移的状态,判明活动断裂两盘的错动关系,进而可将活动断裂分为五大类十多种类型。各种类型在卫星图象上均有其独特的影象标志,因此利用卫星图象划分活动断裂类型,可以达到事半功倍的效果。由于各类型的力学过程不尽相同,他们在地震孕盲和发震过程中所起的作用也各各而异,因此划分活动断裂的类型,研究它们的继承性活动和活动类型的转化,可以推测断裂的活动趋势和发震的可能性。

     

    Abstract: The rising, descending and translation of ueotectonic movement may be anal ysed by satellite photographic studies and the movement relation of two walls of active faults can be identified so that we could be able to classify active faults into five major classes or more than ten types. Each type has its own pattern marks on satellite photograph. Therefore it can get twice the result with half the effort to classify active faults with this technique. They play different role in aerthquake development and occurence process because of different mechanical process. However, by classifying active faults and studying their activities and the change of their active types, we may infer the active trend of the faults and probability of earthquake occurrence.
