THE FEATURE OF JINZHOU ACTIVE FAULT ZONE AND ITS RELATION WITH SEISMICITY

In this paper, the activity of Jinzhou fault zone and its tectonic background are discribed in detail. It is considered that the Jinzhou fault zone is not only an active one since middle Pleistocene, but one controlling the Haicheng-Jinzhou seismic zone. Nearby Pulandian, its strike and active features obviously changed to form a tectonic background which is favourablc for occurrence of earthquakes. The neotectonic stress field of Jinzhou fault zone is complex and with changiable characteristics.
