QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECTS OF SITE CONDITION ON STRONG MOTION

  • Using 151 acceleration records from western USA, We get the attenuation result of the peak acceleration, velocity, displaeementvand duration ect. Instead of traditional site classification, we use site predominant period as a continuous variable in attenuation equation, so that we can study the effects of site condition on strong ground motion quantitatively. According to the analysis results, the quantitative parameter can avoid the great uncertainty produced in attenuation equation.
