STUDY OF THE CRUSTAL DEFORMATION IN HANDAN AREA

  • This paper has investigated sevreal places where vertical deformations are significant in Handan area, It has been considered that the rapid subsidence at Feixang in recnet years may be a result of greatly pumping groundwater.The leveling data of Hanbau area reveal the up-to-date activity of Taihang mountain piedmont fault. The mode of the activity is successional, the east wall of the Taihang mountain piedmont fault is sinking as compaed with the west one Tht rates of the activity are 6mm/yin Yongnian, 4.7mm/y in Handan city and 1.8mm/y in Cixan respectively.The results of leveling survey also reflect the activity of Gushan-Zishan fault.Wuan basin lying to the west side of Gushan-Zishan far, It is sinking as compared with the Gushan upheaval in tht east. The leveling line crossing Gushan-Zishan fault tilted 4. lurad down to the west in the period 1980-1984.
