LOCATING ACOUSTIC EMISSION IN LABORATORY——MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS OF ARRIVAL TIME

  • In this paper, two new kinds of mathematical analysis methods of arrival time are introduced:#br#(1)Array and power-down method: The AE-locating equations are linearized by improving the shape of the transducer array. Finally, the unique analytic solution of the equation is obtained.#br#(2)Pre-demarcating and rummaging method: Before the experiment, the arrival time data of acoustic emission of every point in the measuring area are demarcated with a AE-simulator.After the experiment, the measured data are compared with the pre-demarcated data to rummage the locations of AE hypocenters. It is applicable to the samples containing some complex structures.#br#These two methods can greatly save computation time. The error distribution of the location is discussed and a practical example is represented.
