TORSIONAL MOVEMENT OF QUARTERNARY FAULT BLOCK AND EARTHQUAKE IN HEBEI PLAIN

The crust is layered,and dissected into many geological blocks of different sizes called fault blocks by faults in different depth.Fault blocks can move in a certain part-icular way in regional structural stress fields.The movement of fault blocks not only are advantageous to the movement and gathering of mineral products, but also can co-ntrol the intraplate earthquake preparation and activity.In this paper, according to the principal marks-deposit depth and lithofacies-for determining crustal rising and descending movements, the relationship between the torsional movement of quarternary fault blocks and earthquakes in Hebei plain is discussed.
