RESEARCH ON THE STABILITY OF GEOMAGNETIC AZIMUTH MARKS AND THE ACCURACY OF MAGNETIC DECLINATION OBSERVATION

  • The geomagnetic observation station is a scientific research place, from where complete, accurate and reliable data of the earth's magnetic field changes is output. The description of a measuring point on the earth's magnetic field is based on seven elements: the magnetic declination D, the magnetic inclination I, the total intensity F, the horizontal component H, the northern component X, the western component Y, the vertical component Z.In fact, only three independent components are direct surveyed, such as D, H, Z or D, I, F, the other elements can be obtained through mathematical functions. However, D is an essential element. This paper analyzes 7 consecutive years(2002~2008) observation data of the Jinghai geomagnetic observation station, through meticulous collation and research. The result shows that azimuth marks shift affects the magnetic declination D, keep observing signs stability is very important.
