PRELIMINARY STUDY ON INELASTIC ATTENUATION COEFFICIENT, SITE RESPONSE AND SOURCE PARAMETER OF SHANXI REGION

  • Based on waveform data of 34 ML2.5~ML5.2 earthquakes from Shanxi digital seismic network, the relationship between inelastic attenuation Q value and frequency f are inversed using Atkinson method, which is Q(f)=469.5 f0.3141;Site response of 41 seismic stations are calculated through the Moya method. The results shows that stations installed in cave do not show obvious site amplification effect,all the other stations,although installed on bedrock,show site amplification effect in varying degree.Source parameters of the 34earthquakes are calculated using Brune method;Relationships between ML magnitude and seismic moment,MLmagnitude and stress drop,MLmagnitude and moment magnitude are also studied.
