THE PRESENT STATE OF CRUSTAL HORIZONTAL MOVEMENT IN SHANXI FAULT ZONE

  • Based on the analysis of ten years'GNSS data(2002-2011)in Shanxi area, the average motion velocity of the area from the year 2002 to 2010 and the general displacement caused by the March 11, 2011 Mw9.0 Tohoku-oki earthquake, are obtained through GAMIT/GLOBK/QOCA.The coseismic displacement is resolved using multi-kernel function. The results show that:(1)2002-2004 horizontal motion velocity is generally less than 1.0 mm/a, randomicity and poor in consistency and regularity;(2)The coseismic displacement of Tohoku-oki earthquake points generally to the east;and the maximum value reaches 6.3 mm, located in Northern Shanxi;the minimum value is 3.4 mm, located in Southern Shanxi;(3) After Tohoku-oki earthquake, the non-coseismic displacement points generally to north in Southern Shanxi, averaged 4~5 mm;to NE in Middle Shanxi, averaged 1~3 mm;to NNE or NE in Northern Shanxi, averaged 3~4 mm.
