Abstract

The tests of dynamic' and static behavior of four full scale models of brick masonry building under lateral loading have been described. The tests were aimed at studying the failure characteristics, the characteristic curve of restoring force, relationship between normal stress and shearing strength? the effect of horizontal construction measures adopted in the wall and natural frequencies, mode of vidration and damping before and after failure.
