THE SEIMIC ACTIVITY IN NORTH CHINA AND ITS RELATION TO THE MOTION OF INDIAN PLATE

  • Based on the analysis of seismic activity in North China, this paper considers that the seismic activity in North China shows active characters to migrate trom west to east in clusters, showing repeatability under certain condition and commensurability. The seismic activity in this area is related to that of Qinghai-Tibet block, and the migration pattern reflects the important action of indian Plate to the seismic activity in North China. It is possible to predict earthquakes (M ≥ 6) in North China by using the dynamic migration pattern of earthquakes.
