Abstract
Taking the epicentre migration of large earthquakes of magnitude ≥ 7.0 in North China as an example, it is revealed in this paper that epicentre migration of large earthquakes in main seismic zones of China is characterized as follows:After one epicentre migration, the orientation and rate of the next epicentre migration will be changed. Therefore, in the significances of time and/or space, a sector region with smaller risk of large earthquakes would exist in front of epicentre migration, and the possibility for next large earthquake occurring in this sector region will be small. We have primarily explained the phenomena of variable "turning round" of epicentre migration of large earthquakes.
