Abstract

The historical and nowaday earthquake sequences in Shanxi Provimce and its adjacent provinces are checked by Mann—Kendall non—parameter metfiod.It is found that there are a number of sudden change points;before and after them, the earthquake frequency and magnitude show non—succesive step changes.This research has contributed to the cognition of earthquake evolution law.
