A TEST STUDY OF SENSITIVE “ACUPOINT” OF FAULT GAS RADON

By using geochemical method to study the radon in soil on structural convergence position with relatively thick overlay and combining the geophysical data and seismicity in that region, the present activity of the fault has been evaluated and a preliminary result has been obtained. The convergence positionof Handan fault of the Taihang mountain rangefront fault and Daming-Cixian hidden fault is defined as a sensitive "acupoint" to respose earthquakes by fault gas, the Cixian-Nanlai village section belongsto a sensitive point to response earthquakes by fault gas, that is a sensitive "acupoint". This section canbe taken as an ideal place to make a further test study on seismicity in that region.
