Comprehensive analysis of seismic precursor characteristics of zhangbei M6.2 earthquake

This paper has introduced the seismic activity situation before the Zhangbei M6.2 earthquake on January 10, 1998 and the observed precursory anomalies, and from the actually obseved data, has comprehensively analyzed the general characteristics of precursory anomalies, the time, space and strength variational characteristics of various precursory fields following the correlation between them, and has discussed the stage variations of long-term, mid-term, short and imminent term. By analysis of various precursory data grasped in Hebei Province, it can be known that the variation of the precursor data before Zhangbei earthquake can reflect some significant seismic precursory information on a certain degree, but, by this, the basis is not enough to give an accurate short term and imminent prediction.
