Analysis of hydrochemical anomalies before and after the baotou Ms6.4 earthquake

This paper f using short term and imminent earthquake prediction methods of hydrochemistry and water level, has analyzed and studied the variational characteristics of the grouped hydrochemical anamolies within the rainge of 300 km aroud the epicenter before and after the Baotou Ms6.4 earthquake occurred on May3, 1996, and the relation to the earthquake. The result showed that the method can be used to make a short term and imminent prediction to the occurrence time of the Baotou Ms6.4 earthquake and proved that the method is of important practical value in earthquake prediction.
