Survey and earthguake disaeter loss of zhangbei M 6.2 earthquake

At 11:50 am January 10, 1998, an M6.2 earthquake occurred in Zhangbei County of Zhangjiakou City, its macroscopic epicentre at 41°07' northern latitude, 114°26' eastern longitude, between DaheTownship and Hailiutu township of Zhangbei County. The intensity of the meizoseismal region is Ⅷ degree. The earthquake made 49 people died, more than 360 people injoured, 44000 people homeless. Morethan 1750000 m² of houses and rooms collapsed and more than 186000m2 heavily damaged, the direct loss is equal to 0. 24% of GDP of Hebei Province.
