AN EFFECTIVE APPROACH FOR IMMINENT TRACING OF SEISMIC RISK REGION——APPLICATION OF CO₂ OBSERVATION IN XINJIANG AREA

in order to strengthen the tracing for main seismic risk region in Xinjiang area, after one year's data selection and test, Xinjiang Seismological Bureau have set Wushi, Kashi, Shawan, Shichang, Hubitu, Jinghe, etc.12 CO₂ observation site from 2001.The observation results show that CO₂ content will be in high value imminent change before near moderately strong earthquakes in some extent.It indicates CO₂ observation may be an effective monitoring approach.The principle and method to mensurate CO₂ as well as the requirement to choose site and notes are also introduced.
