Abstract

through study we found that in history the reoccurrence interval of over M8.0 earthquakes in China and its adjacent area is 25years or its multiple.As the multiple of strong earthquakes occurred in Xinjiang autonomous region and west Mongolia were all fall into the interval of 2002-2007, so we believe that an over M8.0 earthquake will occur in the region in future 5 years.
