THE FEATURE AND RESEARCHING SIGNIFICANCE OF THE GROUND FISSURES FORMED BY ZHANGBEI 6.2 EARTHQUAKE

  • The investigation on the site of Zhangbei earthquake shows that this event formed a lot of ground fissures, which distribute mainly in the zone of Ⅷ intensity and Ⅶ intensity. The preponderant directions of the fissures are NNE and NWW,which is consistent with the two-direction distribution of isoseisms.Based on the spatial distribution feature of the fissures and the statistical preponderant directions, the relation of ground fissure with intensity zoning and seismic structure is discussed.
