THE SOIL SIMULATED EXPERIMENTS OF THE STRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN TENSILE AREAS AT THE TERMINATIONS OF A SHEAR ZONE AND ITS EARTHQUAKE RISKS ANALYSIS

  • This paper deals with the structural development in the tens ilc areas at the terminations of a shear zone made of several echelon faults by the soil experiments on the base of the discussing the features of the normal faulfing at the terminations of a single shear fault. Studies indicate that the thicker barriers nearby the terminations are the necessary conditions in which structures completely develop in tensile areas. A shear zone acts just like a single shear fault. So, there exists complicated structural pattern in the tensile areas at the terminations. At last, the problems such as earthquake risks are briefly discussed.
