A METHOD FOR GENERATING CATALOGUES OF NON-OVERLAPPING EARTHQUAKES DISTRIBUTED ON A PLAN

There are some difficulties in drawing epicenter-distribution maps by computer which are caused by too dense epicenters at same place. For those problems, the author has found a way to solve them. That is: before drawing maps a data file including non-overlapping earthquakes distributed on a plan is built, then the computer will draw maps using data from the file. Thus, it not only retains main features of epicenter distribution on a plan and also the drawing by comptuer can go on smoothly. The computer program of the method can be used along with the main program of drawing epicenter distribution maps.
