WATER TEMPERATURE VARIATION CAUSED BY SUMATRA MS8.5 EARTHQUAKE

  • The water temperature data of four wells, which responded to Sumatra earthquake occurred in Sep 10, 2007, were collected and analyzed. In the earthquake, Temperature of Liangxiang and Tayuan wells in Beijing showed a drop-ascend impulse, and temperature of Sanmafang well showed a slowly increasing after the earthquake, while temperature of Changping well represented as step-drop.There are three mechanisms for temperature sudden drop to slow raise, which are gas escape, heat dispersion and cold water seep. But the postseismic effect was caused by seismic wave.
