Analysis of Seismicity Feature before the Ningjiang, Songyuan M 4.3 Earthquake on 16 March, 2022

  • An M 4.3 earthquake occurred in Ningjiang, Songyuan, Jilin on 16 March, 2022, the seismometric data and related methods were reviewed before the M 4.3 earthquake, three seismometric anomalies were revealed: the seismic belt of ML≥3.0 earthquakes; high value of apparent stress; continuous decline of b value. The three anomalies are all mid-long term. Combined with the summary of previous earthquake cases in this district, we found that the scientific significance of the three anomalies is clear, which has certain indicative meaning for seismic tendency of medium-strong earthquake in Ningjiang, Songyuan region.
