Abstract
Based on 3D seismic project, this paper studied the underground salt cavern detection by using seismic attribute technology on the basis of forward modeling. The study reveals that the amplitude attribute has the best overall characterization effect on the salt cavity. The sweetness attribute reflects the shape envelope of salt cavity, especially the top boundary; the variance attribute can be used to characterize the lateral boundary of salt cavity. Therefore, the top and lateral boundaries of the salt cavity are determined comprehensively by using the dominant attributes of amplitude class supplemented by other attributes (variance, instantaneous frequency, etc.). Meanwhile, the 3D characterization of the salt cavity is carried out by combining the artificial interactive comprehensive analysis, and the spatial distribution of the salt cavity is controlled, and good geological results are obtained.
