Design and Application of the Video Conference System for Earthquake Emergency in Yunnan Based on Multi-source Channel Fusion

  • The previous video conference system for earthquake emergency in Yunnan adopts multiple network channels, contains complicated and heavy equipments, and faces the risk of disconnection of the video conference. To address these problems, we designed a new network platform which uses the Internet, the industry network, and the satellite network in parallel and in series. On this platform, we built a multisource video conference system consisting of Polycom, XYLink and Network. The system is capable of reducing the risk of network interruption or video conference disconnection in post-earthquake video conferences. The system has been approved to be effective in the emergency of destructive earthquake events in Yunnan, and has facilitated the earthquake emergency response and disposal.
