Study on the Latest Active Age of the Luanxian West Fault

The Luanxian West fault is the seismogenic structure of the Luanxian M_S7.1 earthquake on July 28, 1976. The study of the Quaternary activity of the fault is helpful to understand the evolution of the fault and the historical seismicity. However, the study on Quaternary activity of the fault has not been concluded yet.In this paper, the Quaternary activity of the Luanxian West fault is systematically studied by combining shallow seismic exploration and borehole section. The results show that the Luanxian West fault is an active fault in Holocene.
