Background Noise Characteristics of Jiangsu Seismological Network

  • In order to further understand the background noise of stations in Jiangsu Province and improve the quality of observation data, the noise power spectrum probability density function of continuous waveform records of Broadband Stations in Jiangsu Province in 2019 was calculated, and the noise level of stations in Jiangsu Province was analyzed. The results show that the high value of human noise in Jiangsu Province is mainly concentrated in the central and southern part of Jiangsu Province. Based on the analysis of the daily variation of stations, the areas with large daily variation in Jiangsu Province are mainly concentrated in Changshu, Kunshan and other Yangtze River Delta regions. Setting up seismometers in deep wells can effectively reduce the interference of human noise.
