  • In October and November 2019, two MS5.2 earthquakes occurred in succession in Beiliu and Jingxi of Guangxi. The magnitudes of the two earthquakes were the same, but the seismic damage showed great differences. In this paper, the characteristics of the two earthquakes are compared and analyzed, and the causes of the differences of the two earthquakes are discussed. The results show that the causes of the differences in the characteristics of the two earthquakes include the differences in lithology and geomorphology, aftershock sequence, focal depth and earthquake type.
