Analysis of a Significant Anomaly of Water Level in Shibu Well, Guangxi

Based on the field inspection of several abnormal phenomena in Shibu well after August 4, 2019, and combined with the analysis results of environmental factors, meteorological factors, water quality test and gas detection, it was considered that the occurrence of anomalies had little relationship with regional tectonic activities. Among them, the increase of daily variation of water level was caused by instrument sensor failure. The shaft wall rupture, water level rise of Yongjiang river after the dam impoundment project, and continuous heavy rainfall from May to August in Nanning city resulted in the phenomenon of roof falling and bubbling of well water. The gray white floccule in observation wells may be related to groundwater runoff passing through coal measures strata.
