Network Edge Earthquake Fast Reporting by Ultra-fast Earthquake Reporting System—Take the Guangxi Beiliu MS5.2 and Jingxi MS5.2 Earthquake Sequences in 2019 as Examples

  • An MS5.2 earthquake occurred to Beiliu city, Guangxi on October 12, 2019, and an MS5.2 earthquake struck to Jingxi City, Guangxi on November 25, 2019. The ultra-fast earthquake reporting system automatically reported the two MS5.2 earthquakes and their sequences located in the edge area of Guangxi seismic network. This paper makes a comparative analysis on the process of very fast report of M ≥ 2 earthquakes in the two MS5.2 earthquake sequences from the aspects of missed earthquake report, time of quick report and location error, discusses the factors influencing the ultra-fast report from the magnitude, maximum gap angle and station data quality, and discusses how to improve the ultra-fast reporting efficiency of the network edge earthquakes.
