Statistical and Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Moderate and Strong Earthquakes Sequences in Hebei Province

  • This paper systematically analyzes the types of M≥4.0 earthquake sequences in the history of Hebei province combining with earthquake geological structure. The results show: (1) The M≥4.0 earthquake sequences in Hebei province are mainly mainshock-aftershock type followed by isolated type. (2) The types of earthquake sequences also have obvious characteristics in spatial distribution. (3) There have been a total of 328 M≥4.0 earthquake sequences recorded in Hebei province, among which 287 earthquake sequences can be determined. Combining with regional structural characteristics, Hebei province can be divided into 7 different earthquake sequence type zones. Our study may provide an important reference for determining the early trend of earthquake sequence in Hebei province.
