Summary of Earthquake Damage of Yunnan Mojiang M5.9 Earthquake on September 8, 2018

At 10:31:29 on September 8, 2018, an M5.9 earthquake occurred in Mojiang County of Yunnan Province (23.28°N, 101.53° E). Based on the field investigation, this paper elaborates on the structural characteristics of buildings in earthquake-stricken areas, the damage characteristics of building construction and lifeline engineering, and gives the earthquake damage matrix of building buildings, and analyzes the causes of earthquake damage. Compared with the earthquake damages of similar magnitudes in recent years in the province, it is concluded that the earthquake has a wide range of coverage, light overall damage, no personnel death, and light geological disasters.
