Reflections of Post-seismic Public Science Promotion on Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction: Based on Public Attention

During post-seismic phase, there is a rise in public attention to earthquake-related information. In order to raise public attention, encourage public participation, establish an efficient information spreading system and prevent the negative influence of the disaster, public science promotion on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction is a necessity based on the public demand. This article studies netizens’ search behavior under different seismic magnitude scales such as Lushan earthquake, Kangding earthquake and Jiuzhaigou earthquake through search index analysis. Based on the result of interview and research, this article also points out the problem existed in public science promotion on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, makes suggestions on publicity strategies and material collection, hoping to enhance the effect of publicity and education.
