The Influence of Different Interpolation Methods on the 2D Magnetotelluric Finite Element Forward Modeling under Complex Structural Conditions

  • In this paper, we established a complex anticline model and a thrust model to compare them with the bilinear interpolation and quadratic interpolation method for complex structure under the condition of two-dimensionalmagnetotelluric forward modeling results based on the finite element method. The results indicated that the bilinear interpolation method and dual quadratic interpolation method can well reflect the shape of the model with relatively flat structure. While for the model with large fluctuation structure, double quadratic interpolation is a suitable method.
