The Relationship between Seismic Quiescence in Hebei and Its Adjacent Areas and Several Great Earthquakes

  • In order to study the obvious seismic quiescence in Hebei and adjacent areas since 2013, the spatial image distribution characteristics of ML 5.0 seismic activity in China before and after the Wenchuan 8.0 great earthquake, the Kunlun mountain 8.1 great earthquake and the Japan 9.0 great earthquake are summarized combining with the sequence characteristics of the M 5 and M 6 earthquakes in North China during the fourth activity period and correlation statistical relationship between Japanese Trench earthquake and North China earthquake. The result shows that the seismic quiescence is a normal quiet period of seismic activity of Hebei and adjacent areas.
