Abstract
The spatial distribution of modern tectonic stress field in the eastern Dabie area was inversed and analyzed using the stress tensor average method and FMSI method based on the local mechanisms. The results show that the direction of maximum principal compressive stress axis is EW or NEE, while the minimum is NS or NNW, and the inclination of the stress axis is small. The results of stress tensor average method show that the directions of maximum principal stress axis in the west boundary and east boundary are 91° and 267° respectively. Moreover, the orientations of the west and eastborders are 87° and 260° inversed by FMSI method.
