1-D Minimum Velocity Model of Shanxi-Hebei-Inner Mongolia Border Area

  • In this study, we collected 6 678 P-wave traveltimes and 6 013 S-wave traveltimes in the Shanxi-Hebei-Inner-Mongolia border area. On basis of these data, using the simultaneous inversion methods in the Velest program for hypocenter-velocity structure, we present a 1-D minimum velocity model of the study area. With the 1-D minimum velocity model, we relocate 1 763 earthquakes in the Shanxi-Hebei-Inner-Mongolia border area. The result shows that:the hypocenter depth is mostly between 5 km to 20 km.
