Seismicity Character in South Jiangxi Province and Its Adjacent Area

The space-time seismicity character before 5 moderate-strong earthquakes and the recent earthquake activity in south Jianxi province and its adjacent area is analyzed. The results show that:2-3 years before the occurrence of moderate-strong earthquakes, M_L ≥ 3.5 earthquakes became more active and clustered, within 1 year before the moderate-strong earthquakes there were unusual quiet periods more than half a year of M_L ≥ 2.5 earthquakes; before most of the moderate-strong earthquakes, seismic gap or seismic belt appeared; the seismogenic interval of the moderate-strong earthquakes had the characteristics of periodic which reflects the cyclical nature of tectonic movement characteristics.
