Focal Mechanism of Hebei Shangyi MS4.0 Earthquake on June 23, 2016 by CAP Method

  • In this paper, we calculate the focal mechanism of Shangyi earthquake using the CAP method on basis of data from Jin-ji-meng network. The result is 247°,62° and -32° for strike, dip angle and slip angle, with the other nodal plane of 353°,62ånd -147°, the focal depth is 8 km, and MW=3.93. It is considered that Daman-Qianheitu buried fault is the earthquake generating fault of Shangyi earthquake, and the fault is of the left lateral strike slip type with normal component.
