Rainfall and Evaporation Effects on Vertical Pendulum Tiltmeter Observations

  • Using deformation data and rainfall data of Longyan station from 2007 to 2014, we analyzed the effect of rainfall-evaporation on VS vertical pendulum tilt observational data, calculated the correlation coefficient between rainfall-evaporation and the EW component of the vertical pendulum tilt and the correlation coefficient between rainfall-evaporation and the NS component of the vertical pendulum. The results show that rainfall-evaporation has a significant effect on vertical pendulum tilt observational data in Longyan seismic station. It is more scientific and reasonable to take rainfall and evaporation into consideration in order to analyze vertical pendulum tilt observation data.
