Study of Relationship between Modern and Historical Earthquakes and Faults Activity in Tai'an Area

  • In this paper, the relationship between fault activity and historical and modern earthquake since 1970 in the Tai'an area are studied. The results show that there is a fixed tendency of the geological structure change, rock failure, which inflent the earthquake distribution in the area. In the next quite long period of time, the earthquake activity will still maintain the current trend and will not change obviously. Continuous activity of small earthquake indicates that the risk of earthquake about ML4 in this region is not big.
