LATEST ACTIVITY TIME AND SEISMIC RISK ANALYSIS OF QILITANG-HENGSHAN FAULT IN WEIHAI CITY

  • The Qilitang-Hengshan fault is a larger scale fault in the land of Weihai City, Shandong province. By field investigation and dating analysis, we make a comprehensive study of the Qilitang-Hengshan fault. The Qilitang-Hengshan fault is a NE-striking fault, which is predominantly active in the middle Pleistocene and isn't active in the Late Pleistocene.By the study of seismogeologic evidence for moderate earthquakes in East China, we preliminarily conclude that it would not be surprising if an Ms≈5.5 earthquake should occur in the future.
