Abstract
In this paper, based on GPS data of 2007~2009 in southern Jiangsu, using multi-surface function and the displacement-strain model, the velocity field and strain parameters in the study area is calculated combined with the geological background and seismicity in order to analysis the crustal deformation of the area.The results show that:(1) the present crust of southern Jiangsu generally moves southeastward, the difference in velocity of coastal areas and inland is great and the quantity value is about 5~10 mm/a; (2) the surface expansion of the study area shows the law of alternating positive and negative value, Surface expansion and shear strain appears high value area in Taizhou, Nantong and Jiading area in which the risk of mid-strong earthquakes is higher in the future;(3) the crustal movement of southern Jiangsu is effected by the Pacific plate, the Philippine sea plate and the Eurasian plate, and the tectonic mechanism of the area is complex.
