Focal Mechanism Inversion of the 2016 Tangshan ML4.3 Earthquake Using the CAP Method

  • 摘要: 利用河北台网及临近区域台网的地震波形资料,采用CAP方法反演了2016年9月10日河北唐山ML4.3地震的震源机制解和震源深度并将反演结果作为已知输入,利用F-K方法计算理论地震波形,与观测记录进行对比,以验证结果的可靠性。结果显示,此次唐山地震为右旋-正倾断层,矩震级为4.4,最佳双力偶解为节面I:走向238.0°,倾角44.0°,滑动角-143.0°;节面Ⅱ:走向119.5°,倾角65.3°,滑动角-52.4°,最佳震源深度为6.5 km。

     

    Abstract: On September 10, 2016, a ML4.3 earthquake occurred in Tangshan city which belongs to the Tangshan earthquake sequence. In this study, on basis of waveform data from digital seismic network of Hebei province and its adjacent regions, the focal mechanism solution and focal depth of the earthquake is inverted using the CAP method. The results of focal mechanism and focal depth are confirmed by comparing the observed records with the synthetic waveform computed using the F-K method. The results show that the earthquake mechanism is a strike-slip fault with normal thrust component. The moment magnitude is 4.4. The strike, dip and slip angles of two nodal planes of the best double couple solution is 238.0°, 44.0°, -143° and 119.5°, 65.3°, -52.4°, the estimated focal depth is 6.5 km.
