PATTERN RECOGNITION OF THE POTENTIAL SEISMIC SOURCES IN THE NORTH OF HEBEI PROVINCE

  • 摘要: 本文在对河北省北部包括廊坊市附近地区的地质、地貌、地震活动进行研究的基础上,应用CORA-3算法得出了图象识别的结果。通过控制试验,证明结果较稳定。本文认为河北省北部易发生地震的地点——本区的潜在震源与该区的北东-北东东,北西-北西西向断裂活动有关,隆起与拗陷的过渡地带若有此二组断裂活动或处于地震带内的话,地震发生的可能性较大。近东西向断裂由于成生较早,现今活动与地震的关系不太明显。

     

    Abstract: In this paper, based on the study of the geology, geomorphology and seismic activity in the north of Hebei province including Langfang City and itsadjacent region, the result of pattern recognition is obtained by CORA-3 algorithm. The controlled experiment has proved that the result is relatively stable. It has been considered that the positions where earthquakes might occur in the north of Hebei, the potential seismic sources in this region, are related with the activity of NE-NEE, NW-NWW faults. If the activity of these two sets of faults occur in the transition zone between uplift and depression or in a seismic zone, the probability of earthquake occurrence is high. Since the nearly EW fault was formed earleer, the relation of its recent actvity with earthquake is not quite clear.
